about

Awake O’ Sleeper was my first full length and the exclamation mark after a long battle with fear. It was mastered by Kramer (danielson, gwar, daniel johnston). It was well reviewed and I’m proud of it.

Destroy Nate Allen (original bio)

Who is Nate Allen might you ask? Why do I want to destroy him? The answer is simple, you might not have to – he’s on a pace to destroy himself.

For two years, Nate Allen has been traveling the west coast in anyway imaginable (buses, trains and hitch-hiking are just the start!) to deliver his brutally honest form of folk rock to anyone who would listen, all while holding down his day job bagging groceries.

In between (and sometimes on) tours Nate has produced a growlingly impressive and prolific discography. This year alone he is slated to release six records, the latest of which, his debut full length - Awake O’ Sleeper, is the cause for celebration!

Awake, features: 10 songs self-recorded by Nate in San Francisco, at night after work and will be his fifth release with Portland D.I.Y. Collective Quiver Society (Soul Junk) and the first to bear his new moniker Destroy Nate Allen. Sticking to his D.I.Y ethics, Nate has decided to release Awake FOR FREE!

With songs ranging from brooding country and exuberant folk punk to introspective indie rock and at times even gospel, Awake O’ Sleeper is easily Nate’s finest work to date. The record which was mastered by Kramer (Butthole Surfers, Half-Japanese, Danielson, GWAR) will be released Oct. 7th and followed immediately by a two week tour etched out along Greyhound routes from San Francisco to Vancouver, Canada and back.

After a winter of regional shows and planning in March 2007 Destroy Nate Allen will quit his day job and embark on a 120 date national tour.
